A newspaper obtained an experts' report recommending High Court judges should receive a 32% salary hike - taking it from 181,500-a-year to £240,000.

The report by the Senior Salaries Review Body (SSRB) has not yet been made public and the government can reject its recommendations.

But if enacted it would hand the nation's 97 high court judges an increase of more than £1,100 a week.

Popley was originally built in the 1960s and has recently benefited from much new residential development. This mainly residential area, is well served by public transport and is just to the north of the town centre. There are several primary schools and neighbourhood centres, as well as the Popley Fields Community Centre.

In 2007 the new Everest Community College was opened – a state-of-the-art secondary school now attracting students from a wide area.

The name Popley is an interesting derivation of the word “pop” an old English word meaning pebble, being a shortened word of “popel”. Ley means pastureland. Different roads in the area are named in themes – poets, islands and abbeys.

There is an annual Popley Festival held usually in May – check the What’s On Guide for more information, and there are a many communtiy facilities including the Popley Fields Centre.

Popley is set to grow with proposals for further new development – over the next five to ten years the development of the housing sites will provide a sustainable urban extension to Basingstoke of approximately 2100 dwellings, including the provision of a mix of both market and affordable housing, a new community school, new community facilities, neighbourhood centre, land for employment and sports, leisure and amenity open space.   ( would you subscribe to my page, please. )

There is no turbo charger either which leads to a beautifully linear power delivery as you chase the rev counter up to the 7,200 limit. It is a unit that encourages you to rev it, as peak torque of 540Nm is not delivered until 4,800rpm.

Initial shove is not as intense as we are used to with modern turbos. Ironically it even seems a bit laggy, like turbo engines used to be.

But after a second, the torque kicks in and it picks up pace with abandon. Top speed is 168mph and 0-62 is 4.4 seconds.

Pressing the Start button wakes it up with an echoing rumble, louder that an M4 or RS5 but quieter than an F-Type or R8.

The gearbox is a ten, yes ten, speed automatic which shifts so sublimely and with such frequency that you need to look at the digital read out to check what ratio you are in.

Jaguar has unveiled the I-Pace, its first ever electric car with a claimed range of about 220-miles on a single charge.

The I-Pace was revealed at the LA Motor show, and is the follow-up to Jaguar's popular first SUV, the F-Pace . Jaguar plans to put the concept car into production next year, before hitting the roads in 2018.

Despite the I-Pace's size, comfort and all-wheel drive, the all-electric SUV will have a claimed range of about 220-miles - which means it should get you from London to Manchester on a single charge.

       Saya pernah cuba satu jenama aloe vera gel ni yang pernah terkenal masa tu ( dalam masa terdekat ni jugak ) dengan pelbagai peratus yang ada . Samsung Electronics CEO resigns over 'unprecedented crisis'

Samsung Electronics chief executive Kwon Oh-hyun has resigned citing an "unprecedented crisis".

It is the latest management upheaval at the firm after the heir of the entire Samsung Group was imprisoned for corruption in August.

Mr Kwon is one of three co-chief executives of Samsung Electronics.

His resignation comes on the same day the firm forecast record quarterly profits, citing higher memory chip prices.

Mr Kwon said he had been thinking about his departure "for quite some time" and could "no longer put it off."

"As we are confronted with unprecedented crisis inside out, I believe that time has now come for the company [to] start anew, with a new spirit and young leadership to better respond to challenges arising from the rapidly changing IT industry," he said in a statement.

He will remain on the board of Samsung Electronics until March 2018.

Management crisis

Ryan Lim, founding partner of the Singapore technology consultancy QED said "Samsung is in a leadership crisis situation".

Mr Lim said "the current management structure seems to be a complicated web that does not clarify, but rather confuses".

"This needs to be resolved soon as it can be worrying not to know who is truly steering the Samsung behemoth into the future," he said.

In response to the criticism, a spokesperson for Samsung Electronics told the BBC that a successor would be appointed "soon" but could not give a timeframe.

Corruption charges

Samsung Electronics is regarded as the jewel in the crown of the Samsung Group conglomerate, which is made up of 60 interlinked companies and is one of South Korea's massive family-run businesses known as chaebols.

In August, the group's heir apparent Lee Jae-yong was convicted of bribery and corruption and sentenced to five years in jail.

Mr Lee was accused of giving donations worth 41bn won ($36m; £29m) to non-profit foundations operated by Choi Soon-sil, a friend of South Korea's former President Park Geun-hye, in return for political favours.

He was back in court on Thursday, appealing against his jail term.

The stinging statement was made by foreign minister Ri Yong Ho - who last month claimed that Trump had 'declared war' on Twitter.

The US President has said that he views dialogue with Kim Jong-un 's regime as a waste of time, and branded the North Korean President 'Rocket Man' in a speech to the UN .

In today's outburst, TASS news agency reports, Ri said: "With his bellicose and insane statement at the United Nations, Trump, you can say, has lit the wick of a war against us.

"We need to settle the final score, only with a hail of fire, not words."
